Why Choose OT?
Occupational therapists have an integral roll in promoting independence in age appropriate life skills including activities of daily living such as toilet training, the physical skill of eating, meal time routines, sleep routines.
We help children to connect and play to improve school skills related to visual and fine motor skills, sensor regulation strategies, and sensory "self-care" routines.
We also promote self-regulation skills by helping children and their families manage energy, mood, and behaviour related to the sensory processing patterns and emotional regulation needs and expression.
Why Play? Play is not just for fun; it's a powerful tool for learning and growth! Through engaging activities, children discover their strengths, develop problem-solving skills, and nurture their creativity. Playful interactions promote emotional regulation and help families connect, creating a safe haven for exploration.
Guided Self-Care- Self-care starts early! We teach children how to recognize their feelings, take breaks, and practice mindfulness through fun, interactive exercises. This foundation builds lifelong habits that support emotional health and resilience, encouraging children to face life's challenges with confidence.
Family Involvement- Families are key players in this adventure! Together, we create a nurturing environment where everyone learns and grows. Our workshops and resources equip parents with tools and strategies to support their child's journey, reinforcing the importance of connection and communication.
Long-Lasting Well-Being- Our holistic approach ensures that well-being isn’t just a momentary sparkle; it's a way of life. By blending play with self-care, we cultivate enduring resilience in children, helping them navigate the ups and downs of life with ease and joy.
What can you do for me and my child?
We help with your child's life skills on a daily basis. A Pediatric OTs focus can help with:
Activites of daily living including but not limited to: dressing/undressing, mealtime, routines, sleep routines, toilet training
School/preschool skills: fine motor, visual motor, and sensory skills.
Postural control, fine motor control, and sensory skills to physical skills of eating
To do so we use the 7 senses to manage stress and low energy. This keeps us and our children regulated and feeling "just right". Also, what can help is creating your child's sensory self care "tool kit" comprised of individualized ideas to effectually help with self regulation and general wellbeing.
Join us on this playful journey of empowerment, where families flourish, and children rise to their fullest potential through the magic of play!
